I’m considering purchasing an X1 x drive 25e M sport 2020 model. 47 000 miles on clock only 2 computer registered service one at 8miles in 2020 one at 18 000 and that was 2022 . Nothing else through bmw but seller dealer (non bmw) is telling me that they may have had it serviced just not wiped off computer/have paper work. How detrimental if those services are missed and what would have been correct interval? tbis is a semi automatic/semi hybrid so assume more can go wrong? Would you go for it?

Morning Trevor Welcome to the Forum I have only ever heard of this once before and not with BMW but with a Mercedes S class the owner was on the M6 3rd lane morning traffic and the car just braked to a stand still (Brown Trouser Moment). He turned off restarted and all seemed normal continued his trip to work. He reported it to Mercedes who said bring it in checked it over and found no fault? A month later he had a reoccurrance the only common denominator was Active Cruise Control which he was using on both occasions Ask your Dealer to check the Active Cruise Control sensors as you should still be covered by Warranty Good Luck Dave

Morning Kieran Welcome to the Forum Try www.realoem.com it is a BMW online parts list good up to 2019 when BMW decided to make it subscription Put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will bring up your model, then search the Front Axel section when you have the part numbers double click them and you will get a list of alternates the just Google and look for what you need Good Luck Dave

Morning Jim Welcome to the Forum Try Disconecting the Battery for 20/30mins (Dealer Trick) to see if it resets then. If not you could have a faulty wheel sensor a Diagnostic check will tell you Dave

Hi, I am writing to provide you with an update regarding my recent experience in sourcing a flywheel for my 2017 330e, which may be of assistance to people encountering a similar issue. After extensive searching, I successfully purchased part number 3 on my list, as I was unable to find the initial part number 1 at a reasonable price. The part I acquired, designated #9454556, is a flywheel with 122 teeth and has only 17,000 miles of use, sourced from eBay. Recently, my mechanic attempted to replace the old flywheel, but we discovered a critical discrepancy—while the parts appeared identical visually, the number of teeth differed significantly. My old flywheel (part #1) has 145 teeth, whereas the new one (part #3) only has 122 teeth. This incompatibility prohibits correct functionality with the starter motor. Also, I'm not sure about part #2 but I have a feeling that it would be same as #3. Thus, I would recommend adhering to the specifications provided by realoem.com for optimal results. I have included some images for reference, which may provide clarity on the differences. Thanks,

Morning Gabriel Welcome to the Forum The smooth running test tells you more, if idle is smooth and raising revs and letting them fall back doesn't upset the smooth running test all should be OK. Injector values are easy to reset but to do it you need the numbers on the top of each injector and that will need access to the injectors. Personally if things are running well MPG and Performance where you would expect I would leave it and monitor it once a month or so Enjoy your Beemer Dave

Well got the 240 back yesterday, have to say excellent service from the main dealer repair centre. New wheel looks great, top pic. Wish I could afford the other 3! Going to see who can match the other ones properly. A front one pictured, not that bad I suppose. Alignment all checked etc. Glad it's back

Morning Larry Welcome to the Forum Sorry I can't hear the recording However your 539i runs with iBus so tracing faults with a BMW friendly diagnostic program (preferably INPA or BMW 1.4.0) so first step get a Diagnostic done. Checks to do first would be. Compression Check, Fuel Pressure at the injector rail. Fuel Pump relay, Vanos sensor and obviously is there a spark at the plugs. If you have compression fuel and spark it should at least try to start even if the Vanos timing is out Is the MAF plugged in and OK Good Luck Dave

From what I have been able to learn, seems like it was only vehicles manufactured between 17th Sept 2024 and 21st Oct 2024 that may have been affected. Our car entered the manufacturing process on 20th Sept, so I am worried that it will be one with the B-Pillar made from incorrect materials.

Hi I have a couple of problems with my 2009 x5 xdrive. 3.0d first of all. Should I be able to select neutral with the ignition on with engine but not started. Secondly, since I’ve been unable to select different gears or neutral I cannot get my car to start. I’ve changed fuel pump relay as not getting any fuel to fuel rail. Are used to be able to select a neutral with the engine off with this now stop the car starting

hi Dave, I had a look there and if its there I couldn't find it, the only other place it seems to suggest is to do with the BC button on the indicator lever but I have tried that as well and no joy, it may be that there is some sort of procedure which has to be followed in the right order but until now I am at a loss. cheers Paneuro.

Morning Bubba Are you telling us your indicated mileage has risen from 63000 to 180000 ? If that is the case then it needs some checking, BMW store mileage in 2 places the Instrument Cluster and the Footwell Control Module it could be that one or the other has been changed but not registered to the car correctly and now mileage has reverted to it's original or it could be the car was clocked at some time in it's life Dave

Good morning all, So, having had my car for a little over 6 months I decided to give the transmission an overdue service. Parts obtained from Autodoc for £205 for ZF service kit, a fill plug & mechatronic sleeve (Just in case) Job wasn't that bad to do. I even found the source of an intermittant rattle from un undershield. Once done I cleared the adaptions & drove up the road, instantly the shifts were noticeably smoother, not that they were too bad before, just slightly less refined. ZF recommend it to be done at 60K I believe, my car has covered 79K miles. I might do just a fluid flush at 100K miles, we'll see...
