Morning Ken Welcome to the Forum Depending on exactly when your car was built the PDC location changed. According to ISTA cars built before late 2010 the PDC module is in the Boot below the fuse board. LCI models and 2011 on it seems it was integrated with the Junction Box Module which is below the fuse board under the Glove Box the smaller plug A4010a is the PDC connector Dave

Morning Ben The TMS units are probably coded Left or Right when you swap it you need to initialise the Headlamp unit using ISTA or another coding application if you have it I have never done it myself so just reading TIS and WIS from my copy of ISTA which is good up to 2019 when BMW decided to pull the plug Is there no help on You Tube normally quite a few Video How Too's there Hope this helps Dave

Hi, I have a problem with my 2011 X5 front parking sensors. I have used an OBD reader to check the failure codes and it appears all 4 front sensors have a ground or open circuit fault. I have checked the wiring harness for the front sensors and the main plug behind the bumper and all seem fine with no damage. I assume this must be the PDC module as it’s all the front not the odd sensor. But I cannot find it anywhere. can any one help please?

Hi Dave Sorry to be a pain if it was the bulbs how come when I swap the tms modules from one side to the other neither work but when I put them back in sides they come from originally then the passenger angel eyes work again Many thanks

Hi Dave many thanks am I wrong in thinking the bulbs are built in and have to break the headlight apart?

Hi Ben Back home again the code you have is pointing to the LED bulbs for the angle eyes are faulty. There are 2 in each headlight. Just replace them with new ones and make sure the semi transparent seals are there to avoid water ingress. Then initialize the headlights via ISTA and all should be good. Dave

Ok great thank you I've had it code read and it said fault code 805e3a daytime lights voltage lower than target value if that helps anymore?

Morning Ben You need someone with ISTA/INPA Diagnostics as that will also in WIS (Workshop Information System) and TIS (Technical Information System) I will look later but just back from the Horses and now off to Dog Training when home I will fire up the Garage Laptop and see what I can find Dave

Hi all sorry for the long posy I've got an x3 with adaptive headlights the drivers side Angel eyes don't work but passenger side do I swapped the tms unit over from one side to the other yesterday then neither worked so put back to how it was and passenger side still working does anyone know if the tms module has to be coded for each side and this could be the reason it didn't work when swapped over? Hey dealership states that the passenger side front seat heater relay sound is typical for this years car. Since the driver side doesn’t do it I am wondering if they just pawning off the issue. I really notice it when breaking. Definitely hear it only when heater is on and only on the passenger side.

Hi Alan I am sure you have thought of it but it's not just a case of bolting the DPF onto the car it will need recoding to make sure everything works as it should and you don't get silly error codes and messages. As an aside get the Glow plugs checked as the BMW system uses them to help achieve DPF Regen Temperature. I have known of a car (friend of one of our sons) having it's DPF removed/gutted because it kept clogging (short journeys) All the car actually needed was new Glowplugs and Glowplug controller Dave

Thanks for the response it’s much appreciated. I will check the car and make sure the EGR and cooler are still present before proceeding. A very good shout. Fingers crossed it’s there. I’m getting a quote to fit an aftermarket DPF to the car but still waiting on it coming through.

Morning Alan Welcome to the Forum Iwould think if the Dealer realises the DPF has been tampered with then they probably won't touch the car at all. Have you checked to see if your car still has it's EGR and Cooler I have read that they are often removed with the DPF work. When the EGR is replaced checked the Dealer will need to run diagnostics and I would think that will tell the tale. Also if the MOT station suspect a tampered DPF it is a fail. Be aware that if BMW replace the DPF it will be a costly excersize I would think in the region of £2k Dave

Hello there. What steering wheel fluid do i add to an E39 2003 Petrol? I'm based in UK

Good afternoon, I am new to the forum after purchasing my 2015 BMW 520d touring last week. Loving the car so far however I noticed that it has a gutted DPF. I contacted BMW to see if the EGR cooler recall had been done and they advised it’s never been in for the recall. I have booked the car in next month for this recall. My concern, my car has a gutted DPF (only noticed yesterday) and I wondered if getting the EGR cooler recall done would cause me running issues ? Last thing I want to do is create issues. Has anyone else put their BMW for this recall with a gutted DPF and did you have any issues afterwards ?

OK will look to adopt that advice. Oil filter does get changed out annually but will look to the air filter also. Good idea on hoovering the pollen filters though.

Thanks for your input. I checked the the DC Voltage with a meter on either side of the fuses (152 and 182) on top ,so I know the fuses are good I also checked the relay 'on the bench' and it's functioning too. Maybe the car needs a reset with a BMW Diagnostics kit as there is still an icon on the dashboard which will not clear?

Morning Robert Welcome to the Forum The GO5 X6 as far as I am aware are all 6 cylinder Diesel or Petrol plus the Petrol V8 as far as I am aware the engine choices are The xDrive40i M Sport has a 3.0-litre, in-line six turbo-petrol engine with a maximum outputs of 280kW and 540Nm. The xDriveM60i has a 4.4-litre, eight-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with maximum outputs of 390kW and 750Nm. The xDrive30d has a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with maximum outputs of 219kW and 650Nm. The M Competition model has 4.4-litre, V8 turbo-petrol engine with maximum outputs of 460kW and 540Nm. If it is a traffic light racer you want then the V8 is hard to beat but obviously operating costs are higher than a 6 cylinder petrol or diesel Fuel,Tyres, Insurance and servicing I have 2 X5's a 4.6is V8 around 18mpg average but glorious noise and acceleration (High days and Holidays car now) and a daily driver 3.0d around 28 mpg around town high 30's on a run Hope this helps Dave
