  1. Today
  2. You may have to do some overtime with the scratch to take care of and a fine to pay 🤣 Enjoy the peace
  3. The doors should polish out with a good t cut and paint pen…. The bonnet is deeply scratched… my wife got caught at 71 in a 60… going uphill in the diesel convertible… lord knows what it would have been in the X5. 😂 im now back at work, enjoying the silence!
  4. Worse it wasn't her fault 🤣 Fingers crossed most of it will cover up with a good polish 🤣 By comparison I have a smooth life 😅 Dave
  5. Thank you I will get him to look at that.
  6. Morning Benny Welcome to the Forum The post is 5 years old and the poster didn't update on whether it was resolved From Richards description it did allow him to get the top up and I assume down. Sorry I can't be much help Dave
  7. First thoughts were cam / crank sensors but unless the new ones are faulty then I would start looking at the fuel system. If the car has been stood for a while then I would firstly look at changing the fuel filter - rarely changed as its an expensive part and also tucked away under the sill. Also look at the battery connections and it may also have an SRS power cutout on the positive cable which may also be faulty but be careful testing this as it has an explosive charge
  8. Morning Gabriel Welcome to the Forum The smooth running test tells you more, if idle is smooth and raising revs and letting them fall back doesn't upset the smooth running test all should be OK. Injector values are easy to reset but to do it you need the numbers on the top of each injector and that will need access to the injectors. Personally if things are running well MPG and Performance where you would expect I would leave it and monitor it once a month or so Enjoy your Beemer Dave
  9. My friend has a 1997 Z3 which will run for a few miles then cuts out. Will start and run again then intermittently cuts out. He has had crank shaft cam shaft sensors changed. I know probably could be anything, but I thought that I would ask.
  10. Yesterday
  11. …. And my wife just got a speeding ticket! I’m going to find a corner to cry in!
  12. Ironically, he used the drill bit I was looking for to attach the number plate to the new caravan…. I gave up trying to redecorate the other one him and his sister painted! 😂😫🙄🙄🙄
  13. … decided he wanted to draw a robot….. on the x5…. With a drill bit! needless to say, his mother is now talking to him upstairs very loudly! IMG_1980.mov
  14. Well got the 240 back yesterday, have to say excellent service from the main dealer repair centre. New wheel looks great, top pic. Wish I could afford the other 3! Going to see who can match the other ones properly. A front one pictured, not that bad I suppose. Alignment all checked etc. Glad it's back
  15. Hi guys, I am the new happy owner of a bmw X4 F26 2015 3.0d 190kw 258ps. After reading some values in ista+ I've discovered that the correction values on one of the injectors is outside the permitted limits on cylinder 2. My question is, can/should this be corrected? Or does this injector really need replacing? Please find attached the photos. Just to mention, when doing the smooth running control test, all injectors were om green zone, the idle of car is still, no problems at all. Much appreciated https://i.postimg.cc/NfywrTrh/20250408-090502.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/JzZVpLqP/20250408-091101.jpg

  17. Welcome Geoff, enjoy the new car! saw this at work the other day….
  18. Hey Richard, I'm having I guess the same problem you did. The fork has jumped track and is below the pin. Did using the drill run the frame on up so you could get the pin back in the fork? I've been manually opening my top for years, but this problem just happened. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks! Benny Brown
  19. Stu, this is tremendously helpful, can't thank you enough. I've ordered the unit from AZ. I'll update you on the results. Thank you. Norm.
  20. Morning Geoff Welcome to the Forum ENJOY your Beemer Dave
  21. Morning Larry Welcome to the Forum Sorry I can't hear the recording However your 539i runs with iBus so tracing faults with a BMW friendly diagnostic program (preferably INPA or BMW 1.4.0) so first step get a Diagnostic done. Checks to do first would be. Compression Check, Fuel Pressure at the injector rail. Fuel Pump relay, Vanos sensor and obviously is there a spark at the plugs. If you have compression fuel and spark it should at least try to start even if the Vanos timing is out Is the MAF plugged in and OK Good Luck Dave
  22. I have a 2002 BMW 530I. My wife was driving one night and a water hose busted it ran hot for a short time. The car was in worse condition than it appeared at the time of purchase. But she got water back in it plus oil. Well it still would crank. I got it towed to my house. My first thought was the head gasket, but the oil was clear. So I noticed the head cover gasket busted so I replaced. I also replaced the plugs and coil ok. I’ve checked the fuel filter and the intake gasket among other things inside and out. I’m stumped I’m hoping someone can help with ideas or the answer to it. Listen to the sound and see if something comes to mind.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13BYZ1qjO4VuNf7T0iou5AWnqJ70k0wxi
  23. From what I have been able to learn, seems like it was only vehicles manufactured between 17th Sept 2024 and 21st Oct 2024 that may have been affected. Our car entered the manufacturing process on 20th Sept, so I am worried that it will be one with the B-Pillar made from incorrect materials.
  24. Exactly what happened to me, except I bought our X1 end of Nov 24, got recall letter 10 Feb, same thing had to keep contacting dealer no help, finally said they had sent samples to BMW Munich , had to threaten legal action, suddenly got call saying our X1 was cleared and come and collect it. Dealer had the car for 5 weeks ! Have asked for some financial compensation, they actually suggested it, no word yet !
  25. I thought I was alone on this one. Bought our new X1 at the end of October 2024 and received the B Pillar safety recall letter in mid February. My X1 has been with my BMW dealer since 19th Feb and is awaiting the results of the metal analysis. Dealer has been poor at keeping me informed, I have had to call them and request updates that have been few and far between. When I did get to speak to a service manager, they told me that if the metal analysis comes back as suspect, they will need to replace the B Pillar safety bar on one or both sides of the car. This could take approximately 15 hours for each side!! This sounds to me like major structural work and has me questioning the safety of the new vehicle I was sold. I believe that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 we have the right to reject goods that are not of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose or as described. I am hoping that this is one of these situations and if they need to replace the B Pillar safety bars then we can request a new replacement vehicle.
  26. Hi just wanted to introduce myself I have just retired and after years of company cars have bought my own car as a daily driver. I have ended up with a 320D coupe M Sport 2013 I am motor trade back ground although in the Truck business. I have a classic car Triumph TR6 and a Motorbike Street Triple 675 taking a bit of getting used to being responsible for my own car 😂
  27. P.s… the original key might work if you change the battery. The door locks are not linked to the immobiliser or chip. The keys can be synced to the car doors once the battery is replaced.
