  1. Past hour
  2. It's just driving on regular roads. The rattling noise comes from the trunk area. When I get on the freeway and drive 60 or 70 mph, the sound goes away. Will probably have to take into dealership to see what's going on. Very strange and annoying sound for a well built german car.

  4. Hi John Welcome to the Forum What are the roads like before you get on the Freeway? Could be a loose Heat shield, or suspension bush gone Dave
  5. Hi Harry Welcome to the Forum Try looking at www.fusecheck.com/bmw/bmw-x1-f48-2016-2022-fuse-diagram That should give you what you need Dave
  6. Our BMW 5 has recently started making rattling sound when driving. I can’t figure out what is causing this issue but it’s annoying. funny thing is that the rattling sound stops when you get on the freeway and drive between 60 to 70 mph. Any ideas?

    2013 x5

Good morning. Do you know the location for the battery ?
  8. Hi, Please could somebody send me a copy of the fuse sheet (both sides) that should be located in the fuse box in the glove compartment? For whatever reason mine is missing. Thanks.
  9. Morning Hay Welcome to the Forum Is it nagging you because the sibscription has expired ? Or possibly just a flat back up battery. A Diagnostic scan would confirm it Dave
  10. Morning Radford Welcome to the Forum A diagnostic session is needed plus wiring checked for continuity to identify just what the issue is Dave

  12. My 2012 135i left park lamp is on and very dim. Will not turn off.
  13. Good morning I have a 2013 x5 with a SOS malfunction light that comes on when I first start the car
  14. Last week
  15. What additive did you use? Sorry if I'm missing where you wrote it
  16. Interesting I’ve had nothing since they told me to come and collect the car !
  17. Received a call from the dealer this week, car has been cleared and I can come and collect it. Dealer gave me a pile of BMW goodies and BMW were left with a large hire car bill for the 7 1/2 weeks they have had my car.
  18. Hi Ian Welcome to the Forum I think I would be writing to the Service Director with a copy to BMW Customer Services UK The EGR Cooler should have had nothing to do with the Speedo or your Bluetooth they have a Duty of Care while your car is in their workshop. As the Digital Speedo and Bluetooth were operating when it went in they should be when it came out The only thing I can think is they disconected some thing that didn't need disconnecting which is a worry as it would indicate a level of misunderstanding or even incompetence Dave
  19. Hi Paul I would check the Cabin Filters mine on the E70 were damp and as a result smelly. Air Filter should be fine with a hoover as the miles are so low My Milage is higher than yours between 4 to 6k so I oil and filter change annually Dave
  20. HI all, is there a recommended change out period for air filter and Pollen filters on the 6 series, E64. Currently air filter and cabin pollen filters are 2023. Any advice or thoughts gratefully received. Car does about 3.5K miles per annum.
  21. I have just got my X3 back from dealership and both my digital Speedo and my Bluetooth are not working.when I asked about Speedo, I got told it is because bmw also carry out an upgrade when replacing EGC and that could be the problem and they would have to speak to warranty regarding if they can repair it.Now,when I asked about my Bluetooth they said that because it was not a bmw fitted Bluetooth and it was after market it was nothing to do with them it’s KUFATEC FISON and I have never had any problems in the 7 years I have owned the car. Has anyone experienced the same problems
  22. Hi all, Could someone tell me if there is a way to turn off the delay for the dashboard lights when I turn off the ignition. I read somewhere that if you turn the stop start on then off again after you have turned the ignition off that could do it, sadly it didn’t. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jackie
  23. Hi Derek Check history very carefully some of the earlier 2.0d suffered timing chain issues and I believe BMW recommended timing chain replacement but cant recall the mileage (old Blokes brain fade) but if it's 100k then it could be costly as I believe it's engine out. Google may help more The 5 series are great cars by the way Dave
  24. Hi Dave Have you tried Black Circles they have always been helpfull, them and my Local Tyre Specialist Dave
  25. So after my repair, I think it's time to replace my 30k 6 year old Michelin Pilot Sports on front. The modern equivalent seems to be 225/40 ZR18 92Y Michelin Pilot Sport 4 but presumably run flats? I've been struggling to find this tyre online just to get an idea of prices, anyone recommend a supplier or an equivalent make perhaps? Thanks Dave
  26. Just thought I'd jump on this thread and ask how you've found the car so far as I'm looking at a 520d m sport 2018 but has 95k mile on it so just fishing around see what folks reviews of theirs or thoughts on that is
  27. I'm currently in the market for a new car but I'm so undecided as to what i want , I'm currently in a 2018 bclass amg line that's fine but I've go that itch that won't go away, I've looked at a 520d sport 2018 but it's got 94k miles on it which doesn't really scare me but just wanting real world advice from anyone that's got one, all it's services are there last one done at 88k , my merc has 100k on now and still goes like a dream I've had a 1 series before so not my fist bmw , anyhow thanks in advance
  28. I get 3500 mbar to fuel rail was driving hit a pothole and car died never started after that
  29. Hi Dave, It appears that my Ista+ was out of date and the idrive(ecu) software in the vehicle is running the 2018 version, therefore, reading the vehicle with the up to date remote ista from the dealership shows there is nothing wrong with the car. It's already booked for a software update with the 2025 version Thanks!
