Is there a simple to use tool that can reset the oil service light one the oil has been changed by an independant garage?

What do you guys recommend, nothing too expensive just easy to use.

Does your car have a round diag socket just to the side of the engine (about 3" diameter)?

Im not sure Jack, there is a pic of my engine bay on here in the 5 Series section. I would check but my car is in a car park about half a mile away lol.

I think it was the older 2.5 engines that had the one under the bonnet (523i).

I'll just order one of the reset tools from ebay then, thanks Jack.

Yeah you're right, think it was abolished when double-vanos was introduced !
