I have a 2009 e91 325D and am about to change the brake fluid.

The handbook is worse than useless and provides no details of the fluid specification. There is currently no Haynes manual for this model either.

Someone advised me that I needed to put in DOT4 ESP because of the three letter acronyms associated with the brakes (ABS, DSC, etc.)

So off I go to the local Motor Factures and they plonk on the counter a litre of Comma DOT4 ESP brake fluid. To my surprise it says "synthetic" on the bottle.

Does anybody know what specification to use for this car and whether this brake fluid is compatible with the existing fluid?
