I own an E87 118d 2008 and I am interested in getting the ECU remapped, I am looking for some advice whether to go ahead & get it done or not, is there any one out there that has had it done, is it worth it or not. !! Is it as good as they make out. !!

If you can spare the cash AND you're holding on to the car then go for it ;)

Think you've answered your own question :P

NOW... What map do you want? Economy, power, bottom-end torque? ... Yes you can have ALL lol ;)

They can even override some systems for you i.e. Make the traction control button turn it on instead of off lol

I've read up about it on the net on the companies that do it, & the majority say the most common & best / safest option is the 'Mixed race' option giving good power performance & up to 20% better fuel so think that's the 1, but I was hoping some one here has done it to their car. !

I remapped my old E90 320d, it was the 2006 163bhp/250lbft version of the engine and after it was 200bhp/295lbft.

I was very happy with the results, an extra 2-3mpg was achieved and the torque increase was very noticeable.

Thanks James for your reply, after receiving some feed back on here I feel more comfortable now about having it done tomorrow, I will post my findings soon, & thanks again for your input :)

I gave in & took the plunge, I've had my car remapped & what a noticeable difference, it was v good to drive before , but now its even better, and hopping over time the better fuel consumption will pay me back, "rok on" If your thinking about having it done 'do it, its well worth it' better car all round, well happy, Thanks to Kinetic Tuning :)
