September 30, 201312 yr Hi All,I am the proud custodian of a 1989 635 csi, after salivating over these for many years I finally bit the bullet about a month ago and have not stopped driving her,I have a couple of quick queries, yesterday I drove the car back home after a short trip and whilst parking I heard a strange squeaky noise on full lock. I checked the power steering fluid and it was quite low, so after pumping the brake pedal about 20 times I refilled using ATF Dexron II. I still hear the noise on full lock, Does the fluid need to be driven for quite a while, or do you think I have a bigger issue? Is it usual to loose the Power steering fluid over time? Finally - Does anybody know a decent rust proofer in the Midlands where I can get my car waxoyled or one of the better alternatives?Any advise is welcome.ThanksFranky
October 1, 201312 yr It'll be the pump itself, quite common on full-lock and somewhat harmless if you can tolerate it !
