When accelerating, the engine almost seems to stall, and there is no power. This seems to last for several moments, but then comes back again when you lift of the throttle after a while. I have been told that it might be caused by sludge being drawn in to the pump, because it has been run with too little fuel.

A) Does anyone know how I would go about flushing the fuel tank?

B) Can it be done on axle stands and is there any prop shaft involvement?

C) How much would a mechanic charge to come out and do this?

D) Any other suggestion?

Thanks!!

Think it would have issues throughout the rev-range if the fuel was crap !

Did the mechanic read fault codes?

I'd suspect cam sensor but hard without being there !
