Could someone pls help my e46 320d is blowning blue smoke but no lack of power the turbo is making abit noise had a play with the front fan and it seems ok

Burning oil I'd say... Could be from the block or Turbo seals :(

... Or could just be "breathing" poorly

Only one way to find out lad....

Yank it out. Has a good look.

You could do a compression test? I've never had to do one myself on a Diesel but the theory is the same. Use the glowplug holes instead of the spark plugs. It will reveal a unhealthy head gasket if this is what is causing it.

You said you can hear the turbo making odd noises? You see... when a turbo decides to knacker its self, power loss isn't the only symptom. If the shaft hasn't broke, both sides will still sprawl up creating boost but if the seals gone, it's sucking in oil!

Start yanking! get pics up here if you're stuck. Simples.
