Help please,

I have a e46 m3.I think that the tappets have gone or do the e46 always sound very tappy under low revs??

The tappets should not be noisy in your engine. They are hydraulically operated so there is not a "Gapping" issue. Any noise is caused by a stuck or a dry tappet. May I suggest a good engine-flush and fresh oil..

Although... a noisy tappet is a happy tappet

Yeah, fine... Maybe change them when something else needs doing in there ;)
