Hi All, Has anyone fitted any hid kits to there X5, I have cleaned the lens, fitted uprated bulbs, and the lights are still very poor dip is rubbish.

On the net HID kits vary in price £40 to £99,

Any help would be good, on what, where to buy,

    It would be a wise choice to upgrade to HID... Nothing wrong with the cheaper versions either (sometimes the ballasts may need covering to weatherproof them) ;)

    Mine is a 53 plate, do I need something called a canbus system? , and how many seen 6000 and more, wondered if the wiring can take this ok , could you recommend where to buy.

    Canbus maybe already in your car, as opposed to you needing it for the HID install...

    Its a simplified wiring loom which can carry more signals etc. This was introduced to lessen the weight in vehicles!

    But alas, just became a pain in the arse :angry:

    My advice is to have your VIN at hand and call a BMW dealer to ask if your car is Canbus system, and select your HID depending on the answer ;)
