I've always been tempted to give those "Green stuff" pads a go. Why? dunnnnno. I like OEM stuff but they are green so.... yeah -_- .... I might not know alot about different brakes...

You track-daying her? If so, yeah... whilst your down there a nice brake upgrade sounds great. If not.... OEM all day long. BMW OEM kit is fantastic because, well.. it's BMW. Premium stuff baby! B)

Stick with the genuine pads and discs they are good quality product or try mintex/brembo i hear

these do a good job and wont fade or let off too much brake dust like some aftermarket pads :)

My mate has just put green stuff on his MX5 (boo jap ;) ) he's forever complaining about the amount of brake dust on his wheels. I have another friend with Brembos with yellow stuff pads on his Alfa 147gta. He says that when their cold he can't stop for !Removed! but when he gets them warm "they could stop a train"

That's the difference between "street pads" and "race pads", the latter takes more time to heat to the optimal temperature, but they have better braking properties. Take a look at the EBC site, they'll tell you more.

Also, bear in mind that racing pads are not as good on a rainy day, because of water which is sprayed onto the brakes when you drive. This cools them, which means racing pads will have to be warmed up again to stay effective.

I personally like Ferodo pads and discs, ultimate stuff for people who like to drive fast and stop even faster. If you're interested, check their DS Performance pads, well worth the money.
