I have recently bought a Z4 and am thinking about fitting a wind deflector. Advice on what to buy and how to fit very welcome. The car has roll over bars already. Are the mesh deflectors better than the plastic ones ? What bits do I actually need ? Do I need some kind of mesh inserts in the roll over bars ? Thanks

I would stick with the genuine ones to be honest. A quick glance and it looks like you need 2 parts:

Not 100% sure but may be worth checking out. Looks like there are quite a few bits on ebay and the priced vary quite a lot so worth checking exactly what you need before buying!

There are 2 options, one is made up of 3 parts, works the best, looks the best, but is expensive and requires a lot of installation, the other is a leather option, which straps on over the roll bars in 2 minutes, I went for the later, works fine and cost me Β£60 second hand off eBay

Deflectors on a cabby???? Do you mean lateral slammers? The ones that cross the car as opposed to the ones around the glass?

Questioned for other members' benefit ;) I mean no harm :-p
