How easy is it to change the original cassette head unit in my 98 728i to a modern stereo unit any help greatfully accepted

Hi Paul,

It can be done but it does require quite a bit of trim to be removed in order to get at the stereo. That's probably the most tricky bit to be honest.

Thank fro your reply I have decided to keep the car as standard as pos so will not be bothering now but cheers anyway

its quite easy to be fair.you will need to buy your new head unit,a new wiring harness to connect your head unit to your cars original wiring and then a new fascia plate so it all looks nice.

Or get a nice second-hand BMW Business CD unit to replace the outdated cassette ;)
