i would be up for organising a meet somewhere in brum or close by if theres enough interest?

Go for it Guys! If you don't have a go you'll never know! Find a nice central venue with plenty of parking, speak to the owners/manager to check they are happy to host, set the day and go for it.

My Sunday Lunch carvery down in Dorset is just starting to pick up some interest, I'm hoping with some help from Dorset Japanese Car Club to get up to at least 20, which would be great for a first one. Today Dorset, Tomorrow The World! :D
