Hi, new here from Linlithgow in West Lothian. Getting a 2006 330d M-Sport Tourer (ing!!??) at the weekend, it's my first ever BMW and I'm moving from a Volvo S60 2.5 turbo.

What can I expect then?

welcome to bmwoc mate.that is an e91 yes.lovely cars.i have an e46 330d the older shape.great engines lots of fun to drive.get it remapped <_< :D

Welcome mate, Im from Glasgow. The E91 is the estate version Ive got an E92 (coupe) 330d and its fast as f**k. Every car Ive had has had a remap, but still enjoying this as it is

Welcome! You may on occasion see my 1 series (E82) parked in the retail park in Linlithgow :)

Hopefully get a wee scottish meet organised soon too!

On occasion! Good wee bargains y'know! I agree with the previous comments on remapping too, had the 1 series remapped a couple of weeks ago, was 183bhp 268lbft torque standard, left Ecotune with 228bhp 345lbft torque and an awesome drive home :D

My brother in law owns a garage and he's egging me on to get it done. He's done several, including an Escort RS2000 and an Audi Quattro 2.2 and he swears by it!

I'm thinking about doing it but wondering if losing point 2 seconds up to 60 really makes a difference lol

It makes a difference to the drive! I'm also getting 10mpg more now that it's done than I was previously which is even better :D

Each to their own though :)

      Hi, I am writing to provide you with an update regarding my recent experience in sourcing a flywheel for my 2017 330e, which may be of assistance to people encountering a similar issue. After extensive searching, I successfully purchased part number 3 on my list, as I was unable to find the initial part number 1 at a reasonable price. The part I acquired, designated #9454556, is a flywheel with 122 teeth and has only 17,000 miles of use, sourced from eBay. Recently, my mechanic attempted to replace the old flywheel, but we discovered a critical discrepancy—while the parts appeared identical visually, the number of teeth differed significantly. My old flywheel (part #1) has 145 teeth, whereas the new one (part #3) only has 122 teeth. This incompatibility prohibits correct functionality with the starter motor. Also, I'm not sure about part #2 but I have a feeling that it would be same as #3. Thus, I would recommend adhering to the specifications provided by realoem.com for optimal results. I have included some images for reference, which may provide clarity on the differences. Thanks,

      Engine mounts

      I have a 73 plate 1 series reg in Jan 24' lower engine mount needs replacing 15000m ..not under warranty? This is not a good look for bmw I think. Anyone else have mount issues so early.?

      The doors should polish out with a good t cut and paint pen…. The bonnet is deeply scratched… my wife got caught at 71 in a 60… going uphill in the diesel convertible… lord knows what it would have been in the X5. 😂 im now back at work, enjoying the silence!
