Help Needed Asap Smoking X5 Diesel

New to the forum sorry if this is a repost i need urgent help my x5 diesel 2002 smoking real bad on standstill it only does it some times mostely when car been in 8hr use any help will be appricated

What colour of smoke is that you are getting?

I have not seen the problem myself with mine, but past experience might make me think if it's white grey I would be checking the water levels might be head, but probably unlikely.

You could always try a fuel additive if it's black smoke. I use to swear by Milner diesel fuel cleaner when I worked in the trade.
