Oil is Oil in whatever packaging... I say this from the bottom of my heart - Does the word "ReBranding" mean anything to you?

It should because every business does it to save money... Firstly they'll sell the product, after a while they will investigate where its made and contact them to repackage in their business name !! :angry:

Therefore some cheaper versions will be as good (and sometimes better) as the bigger brand BUT many will be shite...

Older engines would survive better on 10w40, any lower (thinner) viscosity then it will be semi-synthetic 5w40... Fully synth being "0w" (you cannot get standard oil less than "10w" without it being doctored (Synthetic). Look up "Synthetic" in the dictionary.

Back to your question, without knowing its history and assuming average use, go for a good quality semi-synth ;)
