High Pitched Whine When Windy - Intermittent

I have an 02 plate Z3 which, in windy weather and sometimes when travelling at speed, makes a high pitched squealy whine sound - drives fine and the garage can't find it. It sounds like air passing through something at high pressure making this sound. Anyone else had this? Or got any ideas?

Try looking at the seal around the top of the windscreen where the soft top sits. Does it happen with the soft top down?

Hi I have an 02 sport z3 and mine whines as well but usually with a side wind as well.it happens with the roof down and i cant find the problem. It sounds like

the aircon heat reflector shields or some thin metal plate oscillating at high speed..It would be interesting to know if a car without aircon does it???

I often get a high pitched whine when my wife is in the passenger seat....................
