Hi, everyone. New to this forum and haven't done any car stuff for a while (used to go to lots of shows etc) and really missing it! This may be nearly the longest time I've owned a car for (about 18 months) but I do love my basic, good, old Beema! It's my second - the last was an E36 cab but I got rid of it after a massive spider tried to kill me by scaring the heck out of me when dangling from my sunvisor, so I figured that convertibles (i.e. spider pits) were not for me!

hi, welcome to the forum Jen -

Hi Jen. Nice to see someone else with a high turnover of cars. Im on number 50 odd now, however I am slowing down. Last car I owned from new for 3 years. This is my first beemer though.

Hi Bruce - 50 +, wow! How are you finding the Beemer and what've been your best and worst cars?

Hi Jen. I am enjoying the Beemer. The big doors make parking a bit of an operation and I have had to re-organise my garage just so I can get in and out of it which is a squeeze. Ihave learned to avoid potholes as the M Sport doesn't have the most subtle suspension system.

I love the smooth drive, the quietness of the thing. There are no rattles or noises that shouldn't be there which is a novelty.

Worst car was probably a Rover 800 Vitesse Sport Lux. Lovely drive, really comfortable but when it costs nearly Β£2000 to have a headgasket replaced by a Rover Dealer you soon loose interest. Best car is a toss up between a 1987 XR3i that was specced up in Ford Rally Sport colours, RS Turbo body kit and a few tuning mods and a Nissan Sylvia Turbo which I also owned in the 90's. Also had an Alfa 156 Sportwagon that was a blast to drive.

How about you?

Hiya. My Alfa GTV (3.0 V6) was like that, doors wise! Was also a great drive but a right, royal pita (as Alfas often are!)

Your M Sport looks lovely :-)

As for me, have had a bit of a mixture too, ranging from a Crossfire (best for looks, by far but try taking it around a bend a bit quick and he (Chris - 'Chris Cross', ha ha!) was very unresponsive. I've loved my Toyotas for handling - a MK 1 MR2, many years ago and a then few years ago, the last model of Celica they made (not sure of the MK) which handled like a dream and I loved the square styling. Best buy, however was an 'in-between cars' motor - a '93 Ford Escort 1.8i Ghia which I bought on eBay for Β£425! Kept it for a year, even when I had other stuff, as it was just so comfy and reliable - great dog car!
