Hi,

Im looking to trade in my Cooper with a little cash on top to purchase a used BMW Looking at about 7k. I've narrowed it down to BMW, and narrowed it down to a 1 series or an X5. I get varied opinions but my head is scrambled for all the models ect.

Any recommendations and advice would be gratefully received.

Its for more space (You can image my mini packed to the rafters for beach holidays with my partner and 3 year old daughter.

I dont drive loads for my job but lots of little journeys to drop my daughter most days and get to work etc. Maybe an average of over 20 odd miles a day week days.

Ive also never driven an automatic before and not sure how i'd feel about making the switch, i like my manual gears but not totally opposed to the change.

Im guessing I propbably avoid anything with (i) in the model number!

around a 2005 model I think....

What kind of mileage should I accept and what kind of cut off should i not go beyond?

Thank you

welcome to the forum wes - :)

take your time on purchasing your correct model of car. there all good what you mentioned but its personal choice what you prefer.

you get a lot more room on a X5 than a tight 1 series if family is your concern.

auto box is easily adapted to & you will figure out how it works if you purchase one.

if manual box is a must with more room then a X3 model can be considered.

best of luck on your decision ;)
