I've saved my hard earned up and think it's time I bought my self a convertible, I don't earn a huge amount of money but i've never had a nice car and im going to treat my self.

I have spotted a BMW Z3 2000 reg 116k on the clock and it's selling at 1795 pound.

Can anyone tell me if this is a bit cheap for this age car, also is there any common faults that I can look out for while I test drive it.

Any advice what so ever would be fantastic and I hope it's as good as it looks so I can be an actual member haha

Cheers,

Craig.

Hi,

Look for the normal things really. Leaks, signs of accident damage, calipers cease alot, but there are around £50 each to buy, so no big deal. Coil springs break, so check the condition, these aren't cheap (for springs). Make sure everything that is electric works, if not then haggle. They are also prone to ABS unit faults, which is expensive. I was lucky, my one has had £3000 spent on it in the last year and is as good as they get. 78k on the clock, nice car, could even be tempted to sell it for the right offer, I have had it a couple of weeks and love it, but I am thinking of a Z4 already, this was a dip in the water to see if could live with a 2 seater convertible, and guess what, I can and it's brilliant. Good luck with the search
