Bought a 51 plate E39 520i with 106k on the clock and it's got an oil leaks somewhere. Thought it was the rocker cover so changed it but still using lots of oil. Can't see a leak and none on the floor. Occasionally smell burning oil from it hitting the manifold and the amber oil warning light comes on intermittently. The oil level is dropping to be fair.........any ideas? Cheers guys

Hi John think you will have to get the underside tray off and see whats what, it must be dropping but your not seeing it because of the tray, if once you remove the tray and the bottom half of the engine is a mess get some brake cleaner and give it a good spray down and a clean up then look for your leak.
