Hi every one

so iv just picked up a lovely E36 328i 'vert project car, one of the issues this car has is some white markings aross the bonnet from were the previous owner has been to idle to was the flying rat crap off, have given it a good wash and scrub but hasn't made the slightest bit of differance

so my question is whats the best way to go about getting her back to her former glory?

all help much appreciated :D

Hi Ollie, check these out there's a world of information on cleaning and paint correction. Info includes types of polishers and compounds needed for specific tasks etc.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, Ollie, but you won't get rid of it. The bird crap is acidic, and by being left on there, the paint surface has been burnt.

As Jeff said, all correct

But.... here is something that may work. CUT the paint work. Get some good quality cutting compound ( I use 3M stuff ) and work it into the paint work taking a layer off. This may help. Plenty of How-to vids on youtube like this one.

Hope this helps

Carbon wrapped bonnets.... are horrifically terrible. I see them and think to myself "Not sure if you genuinely think that looks fly or you're trying to fool people into believing you have a genuine carbon fibre bonnet... hmmm"

If you think they look fab, fair play to ya. do it. But.... if you're considering selling her at all, it will scare people away. Just my 2 pence..

Honestly, give my suggestion good thought (above)
