As some of you know I posted up help with aux belts.

Well I picked some new belts today and called the mobile mechanic I use for bigger jobs normally but as the belts were squeeking away and I can't afford to wait for the correct fan removal tool off ebay I got him to tackle the job.

Good job really as this was state of the belt

Bl***y hell, that's a mess, just in time eh, I'm replacing belts that look brand new purely to avoid breakdown. You must like "life on the edge"

That was the alternator and air on belts only had the car a week! Lol

And think mine is timing chain thank god if it was belt and the alternator belt was in this condition I dread to think what the timing belt would be like!

Just to confirm, yes indeed your car is chain driven. Only maintenance YOU need to worry with that chain is keep that oil level/quality up the scratch as it's tension is hydraulic dependent B)

I done a timing belt on a Freelander (Rover K-series heap of shite) and the belt had shredded so much, the inner material (twine/string) had wrapped around the cam-gears :lol: hahaha it was beautiful..... :wub:
