Finally Bought My First Bmw. A 330Ci Convertible. Few Question

Picked up a nice 04 plate auto soft top. Feels well built and I'm enjoying it already. As I'm new to all this, can anyone help me with the following:

DVD GPS. Is it an actual DVD player or only takes the GPS disk?

I can't stop the passenger mirror dropping when in reverse, no matter what side move the adjuster to.

I'd like to get a digital tv tuner so the tv works again. Any recommendations on where to get one?

Bluetooth pairing. Apparently I need a four digit code specific to the car - it won't accept 0000 or 1234. I read somewhere that it may be on a sticker under the carpet in the boot but I can't find where?

How easy is it to remove a door panel? The stereo is so bad and the speaker in the drivers door doesn't seem to work, I've messed with balance etc. Has anyone upgraded the speakers and have any recommendations?

Think that's it for now. Any assistance is appreciated - are any members from the Essex/Hertfordshire area?

Hi Jamie am guessing you have no owners manuals?

It will not play dvds it will only read your sat nav disc.

The mirror is meant to move down in reverse, its to aid you when reversing and your 330 will have reverse parking sensors.

Am guessing you have no telephone book with the car as the 4 digit number is located in that, if not the four digit number is on a sticker on the Bluetooth unit in the boot beneath the satnav unit or can be read with a launch code reader..

The door cards are easy taken off with just a few basic tools.

Cant help with a recomendation for speakers or a new tv tuner.

Thanks for your response. Sadly I didn't get the telephone book or any manual with the car so i'm a little in the dark. I don't have a code reader either so i'll have to pull some more carpet out and see what I can find regarding the bluetooth number.

The mirror thing is helpful when parking but makes life difficult when trying to reverse onto my driveway. I have read that you can have the dealer re-code the mirrors reverse option to disable it or change the settings but I have no idea what that would cost. I think if I had electric fold in mirrors I can disable this however mine are manual so I have to put up with it, which seems daft.

Great looking car Jamie they go well and are rewarding.

Any reasonable garage will have a launch code reader and I would have thought no more than an hours labour would be enough to sort out the mirror and give you the Bluetooth number.

Not at work tomorrow so will have another poke around for a bluetooth number in the boot. I also noticed that while my drivers side door speakers don't often work - sometimes they do, and its both the driver and the tweeter cutting out at the same time. Going to pop the door off tomorrow to see if i can find a loose wire, failing that I guess the head unit needs to come out to see if anything is loose that end or possibly trace back a broken wire. If that all fails I assume it will be the head unit itself. fingers crossed that its not.

Thanks also for the link to the user manual, when i'm next in the office I'll print it out - my little home printer will have a fit if I ask it to do that!

Still love the sound of the exhaust, just wish it was a little louder at times. I saw a video on youtube of a 330ci that had the rear box removed and it sounded nice, not sure I would want to do that just yet as it may be a little too loud. Might see if I cna do the old golf tee trick.

Struggling to find the pairing number in the car. I thought there should be a stick in the boot with it but no luck. I believe the number starts PK. Any clues?

I removed the Becker unit (assuming this is the Bluetooth unit?) And there was only one sticker on it which doesn't seem to help.

Yes, I've read it thanks and while it was useful to learn the pairing process, it then tells you to add the code - which I don't have and the sticker with the code seems to be missing from the boot. Bmw customer services were next to useless....

Well there is a bright side if you don't get it sorted........nobody to disturb you when are out and entertaining yourself with that exhaust note ;-)

I guess. Had the door off to see why sound is I intermittent and the speaker is fine so problem is either wiring or head unit. Dragged the head unit out and there is nothing obvious other than the fact that it's been apart before. Great. guessing a channel may be blown so it's another job for a specialist.

Quick update.Got stereo sorted - it was the amp. Found a local fella , Carphonics, who took the guts out of the rubbish 20w BMW amp and replaced it with his own parts. Now running fine and kicking out 50w rms and sounds much better. While he had it out he added some pre-outs and a switch live so I can add a sub and amp at a later date with minimal fuss. Also new firmware installed and 2014 nav map. even got te Bluetooth code, which sadly highlighted that a ten year old system doesn't work with my HTC. Am far happier now! Been buying lots of other little bits like a new fog light cover, trim clips to replace broken or missing ones etc. Now on the lookout for a hardtop and possibly an M3 steering wheel as it appears these fit and the paddle shifters can be used on the auto boxes. Anyone had any experience of fitting one?

Found myself a hardtop at a great price. Also fitted new JBL tweeters in the doors which make things better. Just need to sort out a sub. any suggestions?
