K&N sports filters and induction kits are they worth fitting to a 3.0 Z4 (E85) 2004 or will they cause problems with any air metering systems fitted to the car?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Mick,

This question has been answered over and over again throughout the internet. For more details, I advise a good 10 minute google browse to pick up on everyone's opinions as they differ.

To answer the questions linearly,

Worth fitting; Yes, IMO
Will they cause any problems with sensors; No.

Don't know if they suffer from the same problems other makes of car have. They may be alright on the BMW. Other makes suffer from heat soak which reduces performance even with a good air feed. I have found performance replacement panel filters a little better and don't suffer from heat soak because they are protected by the normal airbox. Also you shouldn't have problems with the insurance as the other type you will definitely have to inform them as it is a modification.
