Hello,

Could anyone tell me the function of a resistor and exactly how it works, please?

Also, If anyone knows the voltage of the resistor pack in a 2004 r50 that would be awesome.

Hi Kane,

Resistors determine the flow of current in an electrical circuit. Where there is high resistance in a circuit the flow of current is small, where the resistance is low the flow of current is large. Resistance, voltage and current are connected in an electrical circuit by Ohm’s Law.

Can't help with the other part of your question, sorry.

Cheers for that buddy.

Now I just need to find out the flow rate of the resistor.

Would anyone know if they're are separate resistor for each fan speed or does one work the two?

Basically, I'm trying to find if I can get these parts from Maplins electronics and save a few coins - because I'm not sure if the resistors are the problem; so don't want to fork out BMW prices on something that works perfectly fine. :)

Thanks in advance.

Resistors are generally colour coded so replacement is generally a like for like swop.
