Hi guys, which is the best 3 series to buy for around £1500 - £2500?

It will only be used for evenings and weekends as I commute to work on a train due to it only costing me £8.40 per day and cant do that for an hours drive plus car parking all day.

So running costs wont worry me really due to this, cheers in advance.

I'm new to BMW but want a 3 series soon as a toy. :P

Also I am 42 with NCB's so insurance cheap too.

I used to own a E46 330ci before the M3, if your not doing high miles why not ;), E36 328 is also a corker and feels even better to drive than the 46.

like I said, an E46 330 or an E36 328, my pick for driver enjoyment would be the older 328 as the E36 feels more lithe, the E46 has a nicer cabin though.

hey Kamaron,

1500 and 2500 are miles apart in the second hand car market. The gap is the difference between a shed and a blimmin GREAT motor.

A very important question to ask you is, What ERA are you looking to focus upon? Reason is; 2.5k can buy you alot of BMW from the 80's, 90's and 00's. From the cars that I have, I'm an 80's kinda guy so it's pointless me shelling out advice if we're not on the same page ^_^
