hi there all just bought a 2001 330d but central locking is not unlocking. Can i replace the full unit with a new one or is it coded to the car ?

Any advice would be much appreciated

Hi richy, I have this same problem on a 2001 318ci sadly I don't have an answer but would like to follow this thread too find an outcome myself as mine will only lock, not unlock on the key fob. Is yours doing the same?

Guys, I remember a pal of mine bought an E46 Coupe some years ago and had this problem. The fix was to replace the lock mechanism as the garage said they go "Lazy" and its common on E46's. It fixed the problem for the time she had the car.
