Hi everyone. A few months ago I got sick of my rattling and leaking gen7 Celica so got rid of it and found myself a cheap E46 328Ci SE in Topaz Blue. Now I'm absolutely in love with this car and I'm pretty sure it will be first car I will actually own for more that 1 year lol (its my car no 21 btw).

It is a bit rough here and there so I have a few bits to sort like find and sort an engine leak - bottom front of the engine and steering rack is quite wet so it can be either oil or some power steering fluid leak.

Just put a brand new driver side wing on yesterday. Not original unfortunately but pattern off ebay. The fit is pretty good, just around indicator is a bit tight.

Still have in garage full set of budget FK Street coilovers to fit. Managed to buy it on offer for about £100 so I'm happy with them. Currently have some similar budget kit fitted but it is in very bad state, all shocks are quite rusted and I'm pretty sure springs are a bit too soft. It is winded up right to the top but it is still very low... And I would need a pair of spacers on rear wheels as they are a bit too deep in arches.

Other than that car seems to be healthy. Good, strong engine, got receipt for rear subframe repair, all gagets work - memory seats, sunroof, multifunction steering wheel, headlight washers, cruise control...

Right, I hope i didn't put you to sleep with that story lol, helo again, happy to be here and support the club :)

      Access to Battery terminals on BMW 1 Series 2020

      Hi, Does any one know how to access the Battery terminals on BMW 1 Series 2020, 118I. The battery is in the engine compartment and the red cap is visable, however I want to connections from the battery terminals? Many thanks.

      Rough idle problem

      Hello Dave, Just an update and I think you may be right. Went out and gave it a few revs when cold, nothing. Let it warm up and there was a loud “shoooo”. I’ve attached a photo of where the sound was coming from. Going to get it looked into but do you have any idea of what it could be? First BMW, always had vag cars so engine are a little different to what I’m used to

      Rough idle problem

      Hello Dave thanks for your reply, thanks for the reply and it does sound like that could be the problem. I was thinking injector but never pops an engine light up so wasn’t certain. Was serviced 6500 miles ago but was just oil and filters. Going to check later and see if I can see any visible cracks or splits. Got a friend who has a garage and will obd and smoke test it for me.       E53 petrol fail safe again.

      Morning Stu Long time since I played with a straight six so the old memory might be wonky here so check realoem From memory it is linked to the Air Pump and Vacuum control system. Find the Airpump and follow the Vac lines to the rear of the engine you should find a valve with a plug on top (or end) first make sure all lines are good no splits or cracks check the valve is operating, dont forget there is a non return vale in the system close to the inlet manifold.
