Just Won't Start, Help!

Morning all

Just bought a 325 convertible 2 days ago and came to take kids to school this morning and she just won't start, my other half was messing with his Bluetooth phone last night connecting it but he says that's all he did. All the lights on dash do as normal until you turn the key again and there is just nothing! What's happened? It's like it's been immobilised. Help I'm now stuck in the house!!

If he didn't do anything else it can only be the battery that's duff. Sounds like it hasn't got enough power to turn the engine over.

Checked battery and starter motor, have a guy coming today to sort new key out as it looks like it's decided to forget the code or not recognise it and shut the car down

Dude came out today cost me £100 and still won't start. Another person reckons the Bluetooth connection has blown a fuse. He said the phones too powerful and I did try to connect two at once because it said the connection was unsuccessful

change the battery in your key and try again, easy enough to do, £4 for the battery from a store. had same issue with mine a while back, changed the battery in teh key, re-programmed it to the locks and it sorted it. nice cheap fix if it works, if not, £60 for a new car battery

      From Memory you have a Fuse box under the Bonnet, the main one behind the Glove box and one in the boot You should find a fuse layout folded in one of the boxes Fingers crossed it's a simple fix (Fuel Pump Relay) Good Hunting Dave

      Can a VIN decoder really help me check a car’s history?

      Hey everyone, I’m thinking about buying a 2021 BMW X3 and want to make sure I’m covering all my bases before making a decision.       Hi, Yes The air bag light is on. I have not heard of an emulator? It must be a device to turn the light off? The person that owned this before me was an older lady but maybe she had a mechanic do something to this? Thanks for your help, JayMe

      Hi Dave - Thank you got the excellent advice and information. Could you tell me where the main fuse box is (never had a BMW before)? We have a friend coming over to scan the car on Thursday so hopefully sort out the issues or at least know what to fix first. Thanks once again - Kind regards Andrew

      Morning Andrew Welcome to the Forum looks like your missing a module rear camera or PDC could be a Towing Module Not sure about BCM (I assume this is Body Control Module?) BMW 1.4.0 or ISTA/INPA should/normally show Greyed out Modules as not communicating allowing indentification of Failed units The Footwell Control Module was a common issue on several models and a simple change whether you go new or recycled it will cause a Tamper Dot by the mileage, so your new unit will need to be registered to your chassis and the mileage matched to your car. Junction Box Electroncs is the next biggy mainly due to where it is situated. Dont forget check or better still change the Fuel Pump Relay one of the common faults Also disconnect the modules check the connectors for signs of corrosion on pins give every thing a clean and spray of electrical contact cleaner and put it back. I have fixed several this way. Good Luck Dave
