Hello guys and girls, I thought id drop in and introduce myself. Im Rik, Recently bought a E46 320D Touring. And yes it is the slow 136bhp model, but I can assure you as slow as she is I love it and I have made sure she knows it!! I used to be a VW man but truth be told, after many years of owning so many and spending £££ on them I soon realized that I got to move on to bigger and better German things. I Did own an E46 M3 SMG a couple years back and I loved it!! but at the time and for personal reasons I had to sell it and regretted it ever since. In fact (not sure if the current owner is a member?) but if you own my old M3 would love to know how shes doing? Reg is SP02 CRV. But back to my Touring, I have many plans for it and im looking forward to sharing my build with you all. I do have a very big surprise which I will reveal on Monday. So until then, keep your eyes out for any updates and I look forward to talking to you all.

Thanks Bruce, Yea I liked those rims but being 19's wasn't practical :lol: So changed them back to the standard rims, and she just had a color change to :D Ill post up the pics Monday.

Hey thanks Dilly, And yea they do suit it but I put the originals back on now and painted them gloss black :D

Looks great..............particularly like the portable toilet roll holder mounted on the wiper blades, think that could catch on.

      BMW 318i boot locked can’t get into

      Update: I checked my battery and it charged in 5 minutes, so I don't have to find another alternator. All seems to be OK except for the plastic "L"s with a short rubber hose that bypass the HV/AC solenoid. Those get clogged after @ 150,000-190,000 miles (if distilled water wasn't used) and cause air pockets that try to burst radiators. I have a few more brass "L"s, so now I can throw the plastic ones away. I have to be careful I don't fog the windows though, without heat or cool.

      105C thermostat replacement

      You are absolutely right. The strange thing is that when I put the chassis number on the realoem it shows that the temp sensor is not applicable on my vehicle. I will physically check for a sensor. In the meantime, do you think that the removal of the MAP activated thermostat will effect the temp gauge on the dial instrument item 6? I am tempted to add a dummy resistor , 11.5ohms - 13watts , to simulate the MAP thermostat. Your thoughts?

      SLIPPING CLUTCH

      Morning Andrew I normally disconnect the Neg lead only, some folks disconnect both a few even say disconnect both and touch them together. Goes without saying both sensor plugs need to be checked and a squirt of contact cleaner applied never hurts 😅 Dave

      Hi Dave, I fitted one of the sensors on the rear but it has made no effect as the light is still there, I will fit the other sensor tomorrow and see how it goes then. You mention the disconnect the battery, is there any pattern to this ? is it both leads or just the negative lead? cheers Paneuro.
