Hi all,

New at posting to the forum but have been reading previous threads and realise there's some great knowledge here so here's my story.

Recently purchased a X5 E53 on an 06' plate. Has a few gadgets but overall happy with it. After reading a couple of posts I purchased the 1.4.0 scanner so I could maybe program a couple of things, I'm no mechanic but have an engineering background.

Great little program but I wasn't expecting the results, it threw up several errors, nothing that showed on the dash or even the performance but nevertheless they are there and I'm trying to get rid if I can.

Below is a quick snap shot of the errors, I have cleared a couple by trawling pervious posts but I'm stuck now so hopefully someone out there can shed some light. I won't bombard with all the errors at once, I'll try prioritise if I can and go from there.

My next post will be shorter....honest 😬

Regards

Daz

Ok, first one is under the heading Central Body Electronics and has read 5 errors.

I have read up on the mirror potentiometer and it does seem to do its own thing at times, not a massive issue but if I can get it sorted then great.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hopefully the pics work ok.

Hi Daz, just go and cancel any error codes they could be ancient or jobs have sorted and no error codes canceled, run approx. 500 miles to let it do its run cycle then check again and am sure 99% of them will be gone.

As Steve says first step cancel the codes (it works like a reset) then see what comes back I had similar codes on my Drivers mirror it was a broken wire where the loom entered the mirror housing solder and tape all fixed.

Most of the codes I have found on mine are down to old age (the cars 11) and connectors need separating spraying with contact cleaner and re-seating clear codes and no return.

Enjoy

Cheers guys,

The errors left are ones after I cleared them, some cleared at the time and returned on next scan. I managed to clear a few with good old Google but struggled with some, I'll give Google another go at the weekend and update then.

Thanks again

Darren
