G'day Guys.
I have a 1999 E46 318i and it seems to have developed an electronics problem. I am a mechanic, however, electronics are not my strong point.
The car simply died whilst driving and once safely stopped it would restart and run for approx 10 seconds before stopping again. I repeated this several times until eventually it stayed running. I checked all the elec connections under the bonnet and could find no obvious problems and I have not as yet had the computer diagnosed for fault codes.
Is this a common problem? And is there a known fix?
Thanks for your help.

OK, so next question is, is there an adaptor cable to hook up a modern diagnostic tool to the old round plug found in this age car? And do any sites have the workshop mauual to download?
