Hi all,

I must confess that at the moment I am not yet a BMW owner, however I am looking and becoming one!

I am looking for a E46 M3 and was hoping to get some information form current owner regarding what to look for, what to avoid and general hints/tips.

I have a very modest and strict budget of £10,000 or less. I live in Montrose, Angus and have spotted 2 that are fairly close to me and within my budget.

This is the one that my brain says I should buy as it has just had a large amount of money spent on it, and it has everything I want, including the SMG box. However I am not 100% on the colour

This is the colour I would love to have, however it has done over 81k miles, is older and doesn't have the SMG, also the wheels look like they have seen better days! (it is also much closer to home, so having never driven one before I am thinking I may go and see if I can have test drive tomorrow.!)

If you have any info or thoughts that may help me I would be very, very grateful

      Rough idle problem

      Looking for some help. 2010 116i M sport with the 2.0na engine. When cold, car ticks over perfectly. After about 15 mins of driving when idling you can feel it getting a little bit rough. Nothing too bad, but the longer you idle the worse it gets. No EML. When running car runs perfectly not a flicker. Today left it idling for 10mins after I felt it and then revs started to fluctuate but still no eml. OBD scanner can’t pick anything up. Turned it off and back on and was still rough but only a little bit like when it just starts. Anyone had anything similar or can point me in a direction of where I should start looking?

      E53 petrol fail safe again.

      Right… changed the throttle body, now goes like stink… didn’t start… new battery, now starts and goes like stink…. now drops into fail safe and says the idle valve is mechanically stuck open. where is it, how much is it… can I kick it?

      3.0i starter motor

      I stand corrected…. It wasn’t the starter. I could hear it clicking so checked the battery, amps were about 10… new battery and fired straight up…. So much for Halfords and yuasa battery testing! ….now to the next issue…

      Bmw x1 2012 won't start

      I recently had a problem with my bmw x1 2012, failed to start,fault code came up , got the foot control module and battery replacement, not even two days of driving the car won't start again and the engine light is on .mechanic is now saying it's the starter

      X3 2.0 automatic

      Many thanks for the help I've hot the car booked in for a full health check but it seem that the transfer box oil as not been changed for nearly 3 years so I'm hoing to do that first to see if it helps
