Hello,

Thought I would join this site since I'm on my third BMW. Currently on my second F30 320d M Sport touring, but that is going at the end of the month as I take hold of a 335d M Sport touring - the ultimate diesel in my opinion. I've always wanted one, just don't ask me the price - I'm in the Forces, based in Germany, and we get cars tax free!

I also own a DC5 Integra Type R, a car I have owned twice (long story). Fantastic machine, one I will keep forever.

If anyone has any advice on the 335d by all means, drop me a line. Already ordered some AC Schnitzer lowering springs for it, as the X Drive sits slightly higher. Tuning a possibility, depends how long I keep it!

you got some revs there with the dc5, however a 335d is the best diesel unit I have ever experienced!

The DC5 is a brilliant car, hence why I bought it back! I am looking forward to the 335d, for me they really are the ultimate all rounder.

I have seen A company called Evolve, who deal with ECU Modules. Are they a reputable company? Looking at Birds and AC Schnitzer tuning, they seem to charge an absolute fortune for what looks to be essentially the same thing.

It's early days yet, but when funds allow, I am looking at having the exhaust upgraded to one either side, as per the previous model. Any advice as to where to look? Again, AC Schnitzer do it, but it's a bit steep at circa £2k.

      Access to Battery terminals on BMW 1 Series 2020

      Hi, Does any one know how to access the Battery terminals on BMW 1 Series 2020, 118I. The battery is in the engine compartment and the red cap is visable, however I want to connections from the battery terminals? Many thanks.

      Rough idle problem

      Hello Dave, Just an update and I think you may be right. Went out and gave it a few revs when cold, nothing. Let it warm up and there was a loud “shoooo”. I’ve attached a photo of where the sound was coming from. Going to get it looked into but do you have any idea of what it could be? First BMW, always had vag cars so engine are a little different to what I’m used to

      Rough idle problem

      Hello Dave thanks for your reply, thanks for the reply and it does sound like that could be the problem. I was thinking injector but never pops an engine light up so wasn’t certain. Was serviced 6500 miles ago but was just oil and filters. Going to check later and see if I can see any visible cracks or splits. Got a friend who has a garage and will obd and smoke test it for me.       E53 petrol fail safe again.

      Morning Stu Long time since I played with a straight six so the old memory might be wonky here so check realoem From memory it is linked to the Air Pump and Vacuum control system. Find the Airpump and follow the Vac lines to the rear of the engine you should find a valve with a plug on top (or end) first make sure all lines are good no splits or cracks check the valve is operating, dont forget there is a non return vale in the system close to the inlet manifold.
