Hi all, complete newbie to BMW ownership

Wife has bought an early X3 and a problem has developed with the transfer casing.

It looks like the cause is incorrect wheels and tyres but I can't seem to get a definitive answer to which is the correct rims for the model

It currently has 235x50x18s on the front and 255x45x18 at the back, they are the solid 5 spoke which I think have come from the later F25 model

They are very heavy wheels so I'm guessing they are not genuine which is probably part of the issue

What can be fitted that won't put undue pressure on the transmission and drive train etc.?

Any help appreciated
