Hello, not long bought myself my first bmw. l so thought I'd sign up and buy a premium membership (do my bit for the forum lol). It's a E60 M Sport 2.5 petrol, loving it so far. Much more comfortable than my previous seat leon Cupra r. Hoping to attend some meets on the forum and use it sort any problems I come across. Here's a few pictures (not the best)

nice tidy example of a 523i. not many around in my neck of woods! there vastly all diesels :ph34r:

Thanks, yeah really pleased with it. Only 66k on the clock too, should keep me going for a few years. As much as I'd love a diesel for the mpg I just love the sound of the straight 6 lol :D

      Morning Jorgen Welcome to the Forum You can check on www.realoem.com put the last 7 digits of your Vin into the search box it will call up your model then search the sections for what you need I am not aware of other joints but I have not worked on an X1 so there may be something there. Re-check all work done just in case, check the start relay and all fuses Hope this helps Dave

      Morning Peter Mark is spot on with his advice they are great cars and not as scary as many think if you are a DIY home mechanic. Our pot holed roads can wreak havoc on modern alloys tyres and suspension so check tyre condition and signs of uneven wear. History you can check in 3 ways Insurance (HPI) will tell of any untoward incidents Mot history will show if advisories have been attended to or ignored Service history will demonstrate general maintenance and with reciepts any other repairs. Check gearbox services have been done (often ignored) Good Luck with the hunt Dave

      The starter motor just clicks, BMW X1 (E84) xDrive

      Hi, The starter motor has been replaced, the battery is new, the grounding braid between the engine and chassis has been replaced, but I still can't get power to the starter motor. It seems that the positive cable from the tailgate and the positive terminal in the engine compartment do not have sufficient contact. Are there any other joints along the way that you can't see?
