Reversing Camera

Hi all,

I recently bought a 2011 x5 from the local dealer, and although it comes with the front and rear sensors I'd really like a reversing camera or top view.

I've spoken to a few dealers and it seems that BMW don't offer any package to retrofit this, although there seem to be OEM kits on the Internet.

I'd prefer to use a dealer as I have full BMWSH, etc - does anyone know one that could do this (I'm based in London by the way)?

Morning

Have you tried talking to Independent BMW Specialists they will probably be more practical and as the kit is OEM I can't see how it will have an effect on Service History.

I use an Independent BMW Porsche Specialist (he is an Ex BMW Master Tech) his work shop is fully equipped and he is by far and away more practical than the Dealer. Carrying out repair where the dealer just wants to replace parts, he and his staff are knowledgeable flexible and half the cost on labour so no brainer for me.

      Morning Kieran Welcome to the Forum This is a new problem, I would start with the power supply where have you taken it from ? If you haven't already I would check a wiring diagram for both models to see where the power was arranged in the M4 and check whether that supply is available in the 140 model. Then check www.realoem.com to see if there are repair/replacement looms available. Your description sounds like a relay is tripping in the power feed Good luck with finding the issue let us know how yoy get on Dave

      Engine management lights intermittent faults problem

      Morning ! firstly, check the battery. amazing what a dead cell or discharging battery will do. the fact that they sometimes go away while driving could be that the battery gets enough charge from the alternator that journey, but loses charge next time you fire it up.

      Engine management lights intermittent faults problem

      Our BMW 220d xtrail 2014 is lighting up like a Christmas tree on every journey with various faults pinging on screen. We have been to the local garage numerous times but there are no faults. Sometimes the faults disappear during the journey on their own or vanish when you turn the engine off then on again. Same 3 faults each time as well. Before we take it into a dealership we thought it would be useful to ask if anyone else has had similar problems & what it was. On screen it comes up with the following faults:- 1) Front end collision warning restricted 2) Parking brake only partially working 3) Driving stabilisation fault Fingers crossed.

      Hi Dave,thank you for your reply,it was running before i got my hands on it🤣the car is not local to me so will probably have another go this Sat. But will try what you've suggested and many thanks! Will update the progress on this! Cheers Daryl

      BMW M4 seats / Can they be installed in a 1 series

      Trying to do this myself now (put m4 convertible seats in the 140i) when I do this the seats only work for around 10 seconds then do not work again unless I disconnect the wires and put them back on and does the same again , any ideas the can had manual seats and I’m trying to put electric ones in , they have the module in the seats
