320i Rpm @ 70mph

Looking to buy an E46 M Sport Cabriolet 320i automatic. 2004 year. Can someone please inform me of the RPM at 70MPH in cruising gear.

I'm sure there will be someone on here who can tell you what that is. Out of interest, why do you need to know?

No real reason really just curious. I'm currently driving a manual diesel with a 6 speed manual gear box. I'm not fussed over fuel consumption but I don't want to buy a car that's going to rev it's nuts off on the motorway as I do a lot of motorway miles that's all! I'm aware these cars only have a 5 speed auto gear box.

I doubt it'll sit very high, my 320D M sport coupe doesn't sit high when doing 70. Couldn't answer for a completely different car with a different engine. Hope someone provides you the answer Harry.

I don't know about the E46. My E92 does 3100 revs at 90mph. I doubt it will be much different on an E46 although mine is a 6 speed Steptronic Gearbox.

To be fair that gives me a fairly good idea there's a good 30MPH difference in there too haha, thanks
