Not sure if anyone can help or give advice. I have a 2006 320 msport and it has recently started blowing blue smoke out the exhaust, even as soon as i turn the engine on. Its not loads and on a constant basis but if i am sitting in traffic i can see the blue smoke yet during normal driving i cant.

I have been told by people at work that it could be my cylinder block expanded and leaking or the piston heads, problem is it will mean stripping the whole engine at a cost of £600+ just to then get given a quote of how much!

someone mentioned a compression test but a bit lost on where to go next. its a petrol 2006 model if that helps. thanks

It's done just under 112k and has been serviced every 12,000 to 15,000 miles. To replace the valve guides I assume I still need to have the engine stripped?
