Do BMW have to service my car?

Hi all, 3 series owner here. Currently have a '15 plate which is due for its' first service later on this year. Unfortunately I don't have the service pack. I made a few inquiries this week as to how much the service will cost me. To my dismay it's going to come in at £290! To make matters worse, the second service is going to be £600+!!! How BMW can justify this I have no idea.

Anyway my question is, do I have to take it to my main BMW dealer to be serviced? Or can I go to a BMW approved garage to have it done? (Hopefully at a lower cost). I don't want to void the warranty as I've got the car on finance for 4 years and will have to have it serviced twice in that period. I plan to return it at the end of the 4 years and I don't want to be penalised for having it serviced elsewhere.

Any help would be great thanks!

You can go to any VAT Registered Indy Garage that uses OEM parts. If you know a good Indy garage use them. Also get a quote as you may find that they aren't much cheaper. I was fortunate to have a really good Indy that I have been using for years.
