The synchro for 2nd gear on my 135m is not working properly so I now have metal bits floating around in the gear oil! car has done 67,000 miles

Garage tell me only solution is a new gearbox. for only 3,700.00

Anyone else had similar problems or is mine just a one off??

That's and expensive failure!

I would try to find a specialist gearbox rebuilder in your area who could just replace the defective synchro and anything else that looks like it could be worn.

Maybe cheaper than a whole replacement gearbox

Let us know how you get on with it
