Hi

I currently have a Mondeo that i am looking possibly to trade in for a 09/60 3 series 320d Tourer or saloon. Spec wise i know M sport is top but not overly fussed just dont want it to basic

Now my price range is about 6k so looking around for that age they are all about 100k mileage. So what apart from service history is something that can go wrong or do i need to check for as they all seem to be for sale at indy garges

Cheers guys

Hi Ash

I would suggest looking for full service history from a reputable repairer or dealer...if not, then you can't tell whether it's had software updates, premium parts/oils, etc.

Otherwise, the higher mileage isn't a problem if it's the right sort of mileage e.g. motorway miles.

Good luck with your search

I have been doing a lot of reading over the weekend and i was starting to get to a point where i wasn't prepared to swap cars. The 330d for the car i want is a little out of my price range and i dont want the 318 so the 320d made sense.

Do you have any info on the timing chain issue that seems to follow the 3 series

Cheers Trevor, That has helped, it is something i would look at doing straight away, removing the swirl flaps
