Hi All, I have had my 1983 320i in storage and driving it this week. At cold start it takes 3 or 4 times to get it to fire and once running it pops and chugs attempts to stall when you hit accelerate. After a bit it tends to run real smooth like you flick a switch. Trying to isolate this issue because once going down the road it runs beautiful and only really does this at some stop lights etc. Any direction to look? It's kind of annoying haha

Hi Michael....welcome to the Forum

I would say there is carbon build up within the engine and intake system, nothing running a good quality fuel additive and intake cleaner wouldn't cure, especially combined with a good blast to clear it out.  Works a treat on my Z3 when I occasionally take it out and the same thing occurs.

Let us know how you get on with it

Cheers   Trevor
