ZF8HP service
Good morning all, So, having had my car for a little over 6 months I decided to give the transmission an overdue service. Parts obtained from Autodoc for £205 for ZF service kit, a fill plug & mechatronic sleeve (Just in case) Job wasn't that bad to do. I even found the source of an intermittant rattle from un undershield. Once done I cleared the adaptions & drove up the road, instantly the shifts were noticeably smoother, not that they were too bad before, just slightly less refined. ZF recommend it to be done at 60K I believe, my car has covered 79K miles. I might do just a fluid flush at 100K miles, we'll see...- 1

I have recently had a new clutch fitted and notice that it has stopped displaying on the dash which gear I'm in, or should I say when I should be changing up or down the gearbox. It doesn't bother me greatly but it was working prior to having the new clutch fitted. I have searched the handbook but so far I can't find any reference to this. Can anybody throw any light on this? regards Paneuro. -

Burst tyre and alloy damage
It certainly made a bang, it was no more than 30mph and was over so quickly hard to know exactly what happened. I think the front nearside went up and straight over the kerb then I corrected steering and and the back may have hit the kerb obliquely? It was also on a busy road so I had to get car clear as carefully as I could so couldn't stop. I'm so gutted about it and just hope there are no other problems but it is being fixed by BMW dealer so they should be doing it right. -

Hi David As it was a rear wheel/tyre then it could well be a drive shaft It must have been a heck of a whack to do all that damage be like a new car when it comes back Dave
