After revving my 2008 520d E61 to approximately 4,000 rpm whilst overtaking another vehicle the engine  has started to run lumpy. I have pushed the check button and there are no faults showing. The car still performs as normal. Any ideas as to what could be the cause of the lumpy running? I have checked to make sure it is not something obviously disconnected. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am sure the check system will only show simple stuff like bulbs, washer level etc. You need the codes read for the engine to give a clear steer towards the problem, I would guess at injector blocked/failed as the cause but codes will tell.

It could also be a vacuum leak so I would check all the hoses
