Hi

My spare non comfort key fob does not work, all I get from the dash is a key with a dash through it, I now know there are 2 types one u can change the battery and this one I'm assuming that the battery is flat, can you just buy a comfort fob and change the internal parts to a normal battery or is it not as straightforward as that.

My thoughts are replace the battery and go from there but not sure about the coding side of things though but if the battery is flat there is no harm in trying it.

Usually, (on older BMWs) you would have to code all the keys together (at one time) so not sure if it is the same process.
